وهم الانتصار

بماذا انتصرت إيران؟ يقولون إنها انتصرت، فاسألهم: بماذا؟ دخلت الحرب لتحمي مشروعها النووي، فصار ورقة مساومة تُقايضها مقابل بقائها. وقائدها خامنئي قُتل في الضربات الأولى. وبحريتها غُرّقت ودفاعاتها دُمّرت وقواعدها ضُربت. ومحورها يتهاوى: سوريا سقطت، وحزب الله سُحق وقُطع عن مورده، وميليشيات العراق تُسلّم سلاحها. واقتصادها يبيع نفطه للصين بخصم مذلّ، وأسطوله السرّي تعطّل، ومصانع مسيّراته ضُربت. فماذا بقي؟ نظامٌ جاثمٌ على شعبه على مقودٍ أمريكيّ. نجا النظام، لكنه لم ينتصر. والانتصار يُقاس بما تحميه، لا بما تنجو منه.

What did Iran win? They say it won , so ask them: with what? It entered the war to protect its nuclear program, and that program became a bargaining chip it trades for survival. Its leader Khamenei was killed in the first strikes. Its navy was sunk, its air defenses destroyed, its bases hit in hours. Its axis is collapsing: Syria fell, Hezbollah was crushed and cut from its supply line, Iraq's militias are handing over their weapons. Its economy sells oil to China at a humiliating discount, its shadow fleet was neutralized, its drone factories struck. So what's left? A regime crouched on its own people, on an American leash. It survived , it didn't win. Victory is measured by what you protect, not what you survive.
