في 28 فبراير 2026، قتلت ضربة جوية علي خامنئي. ابنه مجتبى نجا، على ما يبدو. في 8 مارس، عيّنه مجلس الخبراء مرشداً أعلى — لكن المراسم جرت بدون حضوره، واستُعيض عنه بصورة ثابتة. منذ ذلك اليوم: لا فيديو، لا صوت، لا ظهور علني. الإعلام الإيراني الرسمي صار يصفه بـ"الجانباز" — مصطلح يُحفظ للمعاقين بشدة من قدامى المحاربين. في أبريل، ظهرت جدارية في مشهد تُصوّره إلى جانب قادة تأكدت وفاتهم. في مايو، عُرضت صورته ضمن "شهداء" في مراسم بمدينة إيرانية صغيرة. المصادر الكبرى لم تؤكد وفاته بعد. لكن بعد ثلاثة أشهر.. لم يُرَ المرشد الأعلى لإيران مرة واحدة.

On February 28, 2026, an airstrike killed Ali Khamenei. His son Mojtaba reportedly survived. On March 8, the Assembly of Experts named him Supreme Leader but the ceremony took place in absentia, with a static photograph displayed in his place. Since then: no video, no audio, no public appearance. Iranian state media now refers to him as "janbaz" — a term reserved for severely disabled war veterans. In April, a mural appeared in Mashhad showing him alongside leaders confirmed dead in the airstrikes. In May, a martyrs' ceremony in a small Iranian town displayed his photograph among the fallen. Mainstream sources still have not confirmed his death. But after three months, the Supreme Leader of Iran has yet to be seen.
