المقود. لماذا لم تُنهِ أمريكا إيران رغم قدرتها؟ لأن إيران الميتة كارثة لا غنيمة: تسعون مليوناً بلا دولة، وفوضى ولاجئون يغرقون الجيران، وإعمارٌ يحتاج عقوداً وتريليونات لا يملكها ترامب في ولايته الأخيرة. فاختار السيطرة لا القتل. إيران مصنع المسيّرات الأرخص لروسيا، وتسعون بالمئة من نفطها للصين بخصمٍ كبير يُهرَّب عبر العراق. من يمسك مقودها، يشدّ على موسكو وبكين متى شاء. ما رأيناه ليس رحمة، إنه صفقة سيطرة، ومقودٌ قد يُفلَت يوماً.

The Leash. Why didn't America finish Iran when it could? So he chose control over killing. Iran is the cheapest drone factory for Russia, and 90% of its oil goes to China at a steep discount, laundered through Iraq. Whoever holds its leash can pull on Moscow and Beijing at will. What we saw wasn't mercy , it's a deal for control, and a leash that may one day slip.
