الدرع الأخير

الدولةُ التي يتودّد لها الجميع , أمريكا بالإف-35، وباكستان بنوويّها، والصين بمالها، وتركيا بممرّاتها , هي نفسها المحاطةُ بالنار. في الشرق إيران تقاتل على هرمز، وفي الغرب إسرائيلُ تزرع جزيرةً بالرادارات على البحر الأحمر والحوثيُّ يهدّد باب المندب، وفي الشمال ميليشياتُ إيران ولبنانُ وسوريا. الطوقُ يضيق برّاً وبحراً. تبني السعوديةُ ردعها بيدها بعد أن خذلها الدرعُ الأمريكي في هرمز، لكن دولةً وحدها لا تكفي. رسالةُ تحذيرٍ للخليج: إن لم نتّحد الآن، فلن نتّحدَ أبداً. فمن يحرسه إن لم يحرسْ نفسه؟

The country everyone courts , America with the F-35, Pakistan with its nukes, China with its money, Turkey with its corridors , is also the one ringed by fire. In the east, Iran fights for Hormuz; in the west, Israel plants a radar island on the Red Sea while the Houthis threaten Bab al-Mandab; in the north, Iran's militias and the open battlegrounds of Lebanon and Syria. The noose tightens by land and sea. Saudi builds its own deterrence after the US shield failed at Hormuz , but one state alone isn't enough. A warning to the Gulf: if we don't unite now, we never will , so who guards the Gulf, if it won't guard itself?
