العرض الأخير

لم تعد إيرانُ قادرةً على حكم العراق بالسلاح، فتخطّط لحكمه بالجنازة. في الأيام المقبلة يُطاف بجثمان خامنئي في النجف وكربلاء، ليس حزناً بل استعراضاً, رسالتُه أن إيران ما زالت ممسكةً بالأرض. لكنه موكبُ نظامٍ مكسور: خرج من الحرب بلا زعيم، وتهاوى نفوذُه في سوريا ولبنان، وميليشياتُه مطالَبةٌ بنزع سلاحها قبل أيلول. يستعير النظامُ قداسةَ مدنٍ ترفض ولاية الفقيه أصلاً، ويلفّ نعشه بشعار "يا ثارات الحسين" ليحوّل الوجع إلى ثأرٍ سياسي، وكلُّ ذلك على أرض دولةٍ تُسمّى ذات سيادة. الموكبُ الضخمُ قناعُ ضعف، لا دليلُ قوة.

Iran can no longer rule Iraq with weapons, so it plans to rule it with a funeral. In the coming days Khamenei's body is to be paraded through Najaf and Karbala , not to mourn, but to perform: the message that Iran still holds the ground. But it is the procession of a broken regime , out of the war without its leader, its sway in Syria and Lebanon collapsing, its militias ordered to disarm by September. It borrows the sanctity of cities that reject wilayat al-faqih to begin with, drapes the casket in "O avengers of Hussein" to turn grief into political vengeance, and does it all on the soil of a supposedly sovereign state. The giant procession is a mask for weakness, not a show of strength.
