حارسةُ الأسرار

أسرار القبندي، عالمةُ حاسبٍ كويتية، تحوّلت إلى أيقونةِ المقاومة تحت الاحتلال العراقي. وصلت المقاومةَ بالحكومة في المنفى، وهرّبت الأموال والمطارَدين، وأنقذت سجلّاتِ الكويت المدنية من المحو. اعتُقلت في نوفمبر 1990، وصمدت سبعين يوماً من التعذيب دون أن تُفشِ اسماً، واستُشهدت قبل أيامٍ من التحرير الذي لم تره.

Asrar Al-Qabandi, a Kuwaiti computer scientist turned icon of the resistance under Iraqi occupation. She linked the resistance to the government-in-exile, smuggled funds and the hunted, and saved Kuwait's civil records from erasure. Seized in November 1990, she endured seventy days of torture without giving a single name, and was martyred days before the liberation she never lived to see.
