ما تراه على الشاشة فوضى قصف، وما هو على طاولة العمليات خطةُ جرّاح. أمريكا تشقُّ أهدافها بدقة، عزلُ ميناء بندر عباس بقطع الجسور والسكة، ثم قطعُ الكهرباء والماء والغذاء، ثم الاستئصالُ الأكبر، نفطُ إيران في جزيرة خرج. الغاية استئصالُ أوراق إيران وإجبارها على قبول إعادة كتابة البند الخامس من المذكرة، بند الإتاوة على هرمز الذي استغلّته فانهار الاتفاق. والمفارقة أنّ الإتاوةَ صارت الورمَ الذي جاء المِبضعُ يستأصله.

The aim is to remove Iran's leverage and force it to accept a rewrite of the MOU's Article 5, the Hormuz-toll clause it exploited until the deal collapsed. The irony: that toll became the tumor the scalpel came to cut out.
