غاز غزة

في ١٩٩٩، اكتشف ياسر عرفات غازاً تحت بحر غزّة. حقلٌ يكفي لتأسيس دولة. إسرائيل رفضت تطويره. خمسة وعشرون سنة، والحقل تحت الماء. خلالها، اكتشفت إسرائيل حقولها في البحر نفسه، ووقّعت عقوداً بمليارات الدولارات مع مصر والأردن.

In 1999, Yasser Arafat discovered gas beneath the sea of Gaza. A field large enough to fund a state. Israel refused to develop it. Twenty-five years, the field stayed underwater. In that same time, Israel discovered its own fields in the same sea, and signed billion-dollar contracts with Egypt and Jordan.
